
Professor Eddie Cubillo is winner of the 2025 NAIDOC Education Award, and he kindly spoke with the Wide Open Air Exchange program about his reaction to the award in the context of the ongoing problems he sees as an educator and academic, lawyer and advocate.
Professor Cubillo is Director of the Mabo Centre. He has been Anti-Discrimination Commissioner of the Northern Territory, Director of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services, and Director of Community Engagement for the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory, among other roles and positions.
